A fierce battle took place nearly 400 years ago near Ethin (England), resulting in the deaths of 5,000 soldiers. Since then, locals have occasionally seen phantom armies battling in the sky.
Unsolved mystery: Battles in the sky
Psychics use the term ” Honting ” to denote the connection between certain mirages and a specific geographical location . Occasionally, hundreds of mirages are seen in the sky at these locations. Surprisingly, “Honting” is often observed in places where real battles took place many years ago.
One such location is in England, near Ethin, where in 1643 the armies of Princes Rutherford and Oliver Cromwell met in a decisive battle. More than 5,000 soldiers perished on the battlefield.

A month later, local shepherds witnessed a strange phenomenon: Two ghostly armies clashed fiercely in the sky, accompanied by sounds of gunfire, war drums, and the clanging of swords and spears… From then on, people in the surrounding areas occasionally continued to see this phantom battle taking place in the evening sky.
In 1785, at Uiexto in Cilledi, a solemn funeral was held for General Phon Coden . Just as the coffin was being lowered into the grave, a mighty army suddenly appeared in the sky, marching forward with a thunderous roar.
In 1748, in the Dophin near Vienna, 20 people witnessed an army marching across the sky.
In 1888, for several hours, a cavalry troop led by an officer wielding a gleaming sword appeared in the skies over Varagodin in Khovati. These strange events were described in considerable detail in the newspapers of the time.
Instances of “aerial battles ” observed in Russian territory are also recorded in ancient chronicles.
During the battle against the German Holy Order army on the frozen Lake Chusco in 1242, many soldiers in Tsar Alexander Nevsky ‘s army saw “an army of God” suddenly appear in the sky to reinforce the Russian forces…
In November 1956, two Englishmen, Pete Dinoviep and Patrick Skipui, were on an excursion in the Culinary Mountains. Around 3 a.m., they heard a tremendous rumbling sound. They emerged from their tent and saw dozens of Scottish snipers firing at an invisible enemy. Early the next morning, the noises in the sky awakened them again, and this time they saw the same Scots, looking dejected, hastily fleeing and stumbling over invisible rocks.
Upon returning to the town of Xlaigasane , Pete and Patrick recounted their observations to the hotel manager. He explained that they were not the first to witness the phenomenon and that it was a depiction of a battle that took place in 1745.
Scientific explanation
Dr. A. Gurvich, a mathematician and physicist, explained similar mirages using complex optical phenomena in the atmosphere, caused by the refraction of light within the atmospheric layers.
This phenomenon was also thoroughly investigated by American physicists A. Phrayde and U. Makher. These scientists believed that the peculiar property of ” atmospheric lenses ” is that they create different illusions and alter the shape of information transmitted by light according to its propagation through the air mass.
Illusions – a convenient explanation indeed. But the problem is that some manifestations of this phenomenon don’t entirely fall within that interpretation. For example, the people of the town of Vecve (Belgium) saw this battle take place exactly one week after the Battle of Waterloo.
Experts from the world-renowned Society for Telepathy Research believe that the secret of these aerial battles lies in the immense waste of psychophysiological energy during the conflict. The accumulation of pain, frustration, and fear is imprinted in space and, even years later, evokes images in the minds of highly sensitive individuals.
American researchers Oen and Pret also came to a similar conclusion. They analyzed more than 100 cases of “hallucinations” and concluded that most of the people who saw the ” battle in the sky ” at that time were in a state of heightened excitement , perhaps that is why they saw what others did not.
So, is it true that ” ghost battles” don’t happen in reality but only in the human mind, and are closer to hallucinations than to illusions and other optical phenomena? Let’s not jump to conclusions.
The mystery of ” illusory mirages in space ” may be explained by experts from the Voronezh Research Committee on Anomalous Phenomena (Russia). They recently accompanied officials from the Voronezh Geological Survey to conduct a survey in the tectonic fault zone in Novokhopexk. There, they discovered and photographed ” channels for the release of Earth’s energy .” The images clearly show luminous spheres and clouds above the anomalous areas.
Furthermore, according to Henrich Xilanop, one of the survey leaders, the team photographed events that occurred at those locations in the distant past. The photographs, taken with special equipment on the banks of the Hope River, clearly show tents and figures wearing helmets… These things were not present at the time the photographs were taken.
Voronezh experts on anomalous phenomena have offered the following explanation: It’s possible the film captured visual information from a distant past, preserved by the energy ” memory field ” emanating from the fault zone. This is because, during the Great Patriotic War against Nazi Germany, the defensive line ran through those areas. A Czechoslovakian regiment commanded by L. Svvoboda participated in this line. The soldiers wearing helmets and uniforms depicted in the photographs perfectly match that era.
But even if the above hypothesis were confirmed, many mysteries would still remain about these “battles in the sky.” For example, some documents have reported strange materialization phenomena of objects during these aerial battles. For instance, in 1686 in England, a parade of armed soldiers was observed in the sky, and many weapons, swords, guns, and helmets fell to the ground.
In 1800, after an aerial battle over the Kinken region, broken branches were found on the ground and bloodstains were visible on the grass.
